Knauf 2014

On 05 June 2014, the Institute of Mining and the student body Fachschaft Geo-, Energie- und Rohstoffwissenschaften organised a day excursion to the Knauf Gips KG company in Iphofen, in which 14 students took part.

First, the underground area in Hüttenheim was visited. There, the participants were given a general overview of the mining area and the machinery. In the further course, a drivage with the loading vehicles and drill jumbos in use was visited, before a further focus was placed on the primary crusher and belt conveyor.
After a joint lunch in the plant canteen, the tour continued in plant 2. This is where further processing takes place until the finished product is ready. Here, the conveying and processing technology used could be viewed.
